Coaching Staff

At West Shore Fencers Club we strive for a fun, safe, professional environment to fence in. All of our staff have passed background checks and are Safesport certified.

Coach Dan (Daniel Checkeye)
Moniteur d' Arms (Foil, Epee, and Saber) - United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) and the International Academy of Arms(AAI)
USA Fencing Coach Member and SafeSport Certified
Foil and Epee Referee 

Coach Dan teaches the Wednesday Intermediate Foil Class, the Friday Saber Class, and Organizes the Open Bouting. He began fencing at the West Shore Fencers Club in 2012 and fell in love with the sport. He regularly travels for continuing education and to fence in tournaments.

Coach Jen (Jennifer Facchine)

USA Fencing Coach Member and SafeSport Certified

Coach Jen teaches the Monday Beginner Foil Class and the Friday Intermediate Foil Class. She began fencing at WSFC in 2013 after fencing at other clubs for several years. She is commited to fencing and makes it a point to                                                                                        participate in tournaments regularly.

Coach Nick (Nickolys Hinton)

Moniteur d' Foil - United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) and the International Academy of Arms(AAI)

Foil, Epee, and Saber Referee 

Coach Nick joined WSFC in 2016. He is the Head Coach at Shippensburg University. Coach Nick helps out where he can, filling in as a substitute instructor when needed.
